The medieval village of Hautpoul Hautpoul guards the entrance to the Montagne Noire and its vast forests. This medieval perched village is not open to traffic. Historic cradle of Mazamet, this former Cathar site clinging to a rocky peak overlooks the city from more than 300 m. It opened to the public on Saturday September 15, 2018.
