Details of the activity

"The Miredames" is a wooden boat built in 1990 on the model of the old river stagecoaches that traveled the rivers and canals until the end of the 19th century. Its length is 14.35 m and its width 4.36 m , for a draft of barely 39cm and a weight of 6.8 tons which allows it to navigate easily on the Agout. It can carry up to 60 passengers. Departing from the pier in the city center, after having passed under the Miredames Bridge, you gently go up the green loops of the Agout to reach, 20 minutes later, the Gourjade Park, a 53-hectare natural area dedicated to walking and leisure, located 2.5 km from the center You will find many playgrounds and play equipment for children, and a "nine-hole" course with driving range for golf lovers.TO VISIT: The Archéopole (Center for Archaeological Studies and Research of Castrais - CERAC), which offers a discovery of local archaeology. (Saturday afternoon only). IN THE IMMEDIATE NEARBY: Swimming pools, water games of the Archipelago (ice-rink pool), accessible by the footbridge which spans the river, fishing, horse riding, tennis, paddle, 9-hole golf course... On the way back , "Le Miredames" offers you a view incomparable on the famous multicolored wooden houses, which make the reputation of Castres. Preserved and magnificently restored, these former workshops of tanners and weavers in past centuries, today give the town its full character.
