Fortress of Penne

Penne

Details of the activity

When you enter the medieval town of Penne, you set off on a journey through time, to the era of fortified castles, knights and minstrels! When you arrive in the village of Penne, look up to come face to face with a masterpiece of medieval architecture: the fortress of Penne! Who could have imagined that a castle could be on top of this rock? Along the path that climbs from the village to the fortress, you can glimpse the grandiose landscape of the valley. Once at the top of the cliff, the view is breathtaking! From the top of the Château de Penne, the Gorges de l'Aveyron open up to you and you can enjoy a panorama of the vineyards of Gaillac and the village of Penne below! The ensemble offers a unique panorama of the Aveyron gorges, the Grésigne forest and the Quercy which begin at the foot of the promontory, on the other bank of the river.
