Details of the activity

The coal ? Immerse yourself in the heart of its history in the Tarn, come to the museum, located a few kilometers from Albi, on an old mine pit. Equipped with a helmet, after a descent into a cage to reach the underground mine galleries, the atmosphere will seize you and you will be… an underground miner! In one hour of guided tour, you will understand the working and exploitation conditions of this fossil fuel. Privileged witness to this epic which lasted seven centuries, made up of discoveries, technical progress, social struggles in which Jean Jaurès occupies a central place, the museum offers you, through its permanent route and its temporary exhibitions, snapshots of lives and stories from this rich industrial past.

From 02/15 to 04/30 Open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Closed on Mondays.
