The Gardens of the Palais de la Berbie

Albi

Details of the activity

The gardens of the Palais de la Berbie are characteristic of classical gardens: arabesques of boxwood cut on a bed of white gravel, simply accompanied in summer by quality flowers. These gardens occupy the place of the former garrison of the bishops and contribute to embellishing the site. They were commissioned by the first archbishop of Albi, Hyacinthe Serroni, following the plan of the French gardens. The old walkway has been transformed into a shaded walkway offering a panoramic view of the banks of the Tarn, the Pont-vieux, the old mills, the cathedral. The Palais de la Berbie and its gardens are one of the most visited sites in the city.
