Toulouse-Lautrec Museum

Albi

Details of the activity

The course devoted to Toulouse-Lautrec offers on two levels a chronological discovery and a thematic approach of the work. His lithographic technique and his creative process are illustrated by the presentation of studies and preparatory drawings alongside the 31 posters he produced. A third level is devoted to a collection of modern art presenting the works of friends and contemporaries of Toulouse-Lautrec, as well as a significant group of artists of “Poetic Reality”. The discovery of the building and the rehabilitated spaces is accompanied by the creation of history galleries, one of which allows to deepen the knowledge of the Berbie palace, from the archaeological discoveries made during the restructuring project, and the another presents the episcopal city classified as a World Heritage Site. During the TOULOUSE-LAUTREC exhibition. Resolutely modern, which will take place at the Grand Palais in Paris (from October 9, 2019 to January 27, 2020), the Toulouse-Lautrec museum is offering a new museum trail allowing visitors to discover Lautrec's works from his children's drawings and his early works to 'to his end-of-life works. The 31 posters are exhibited as well as a choice of lithographs. The audio guide route has been completely overhauled. It comments on the history of the Palais de la Berbie and around fifty works (Toulouse-Lautrec collection, collections of ancient and modern art).
